STEI / Electrical Engineering

Semiconductor Technology

Produce engineers who have the ability to design semiconductor devices, fabricate semiconductor devices and chips, as well as manufacture and test semiconductor chips. Lectures cover all stages starting from semiconductor substrate preparation, semiconductor fabrication processes such as thin film technology, lithography, etching, impurity doping, as well as packaging and testing of semiconductor chips. Study the principles and design of semiconductor devices such as diodes, BJTs, MOSFETs, and MEMS using technology-based design simulation tools. Learn the basics of quantum and photonic devices. Students will undertake a topic on designing or fabricating semiconductor devices/chips from start to finish. As long as they have the skills, students can work in Foundry, Wafer Fab, Assembly & Test (OSAT) companies.
